Marketing with Brochures, the Basics
By Mitoné L. Cooke
- I keep a stack of my brochures in my glove compartment. Whenever I go out and get to talking about my business, I always have my business card at the ready with me, but if a prospect seems a little more interested, I’ll run back to my car and bring them a brochure.
- It will all depend on the nature of your business as to where you’ll want to post your brochure. If you’re marketing a business opportunity to the average Joe or Josephine, you might consider pinning up a couple at the cork boards in the stores.
- If you’re marketing your bed and breakfast online reservation system, you might want to send your brochure to every tourist welcome center in the state.
- Join the chamber. Many chambers include your brochure in their welcome packets and new folk’s packets.
- Partner with a local like-minded business. If you sell a car care product, get your local parts store to place your brochures in their bags or on their counter in exchange for a review of their store on your website.
The information you put on your brochures is just as important as the way you list it on your brochures. Keep these ideas in mind, making sure the most important points are more quickly available to your customer’s attention. And get out there and give these brochures away to anyone who might be interested. It’s easier to get attention if you’re the only guy listed under the “pink elephants” keyword search. That’s what marketing with brochures is like. It’s as if you were the only result coming up at the search engines.
